Step 1 — Tax exemption & gift form
Newfoundland & Labrador has no published named or numbered gift form. Declare the gift through the MyGovNL vehicle transfer process -- there is no separate downloadable gift form. Visit the Motor Registration Division page for current steps.
Step 2 — Complete a bill of sale (marked “Gift”)
Even for a $0 gift, both parties should complete a bill of sale. Write “Gift” or “$0” in the sale price field. The bill of sale should include the date, year/make/model, VIN, odometer reading, full names and addresses of both parties, and both signatures.

Step 3 — Who qualifies as family?
