    Step 1: Tax exemption and gift form

    Sign a Family Gift Affidavit in person at a Service NB location (per Bulletin PVTB-104). The donor must have already paid tax. Not valid if another family gift on this vehicle occurred in the past 12 months. Note: stepsiblings cannot gift each other under this exemption.

    Step 2: Complete a bill of sale (marked “Gift”)

    Even for a $0 gift, both parties should complete a bill of sale. Write “Gift” or “$0” in the sale price field. The bill of sale should include the date, year/make/model, VIN, odometer reading, full names and addresses of both parties, and both signatures.
