What every vehicle sale needs

A signed bill of sale

The essential document for any private vehicle sale. Records the price, vehicle description, and both parties' details.

Vehicle identification

VIN for road vehicles, Hull ID for boats. Always verify the ID number matches the registration documents.

Proof of ownership

Current registration or title. The seller must be the registered owner (or have authority to sell).

Lien check

Confirm the vehicle has no outstanding loans. A lien follows the vehicle, not the seller, so the buyer inherits any existing debt.
