File a written claim with the airline within 7 days of receiving a damaged bag, within 21 days of receiving a delayed bag, and as soon as possible for a lost bag. A bag counts as lost once it is 21 days late, or earlier if the airline admits losing it. We had given 21 days for a total loss.
7 days (damage) or 21 days (total loss) → 7 days for a damaged bag, 21 days for a delayed bag, as soon as possible for a lost bag

Corrected: denied-boarding compensation is $900, $1,800 or $2,400 for every airline, large or small. Our page had listed lower amounts for small airlines, which the regulation does not provide for.
Denied boarding: large airlines $900 / $1,800 / $2,400; small airlines $300 / $600 / $800 → Denied boarding: $900 (under 6 hours late), $1,800 (6 to 9 hours), $2,400 (9 hours or more), the same for large and small airlines (Air Passenger Protection Regulations, s.20(1))

The Montreal Convention liability limits were revised by ICAO effective December 28, 2024, and we were still showing the previous figures. For lost or damaged checked baggage on an international flight the limit is now 1,519 Special Drawing Rights per passenger, approximately $2,780 CAD on the CTA's own conversion. The limits are revised every five years and the SDR to CAD rate floats, so treat the dollar amount as approximate and confirm the current conversion with the airline or the CTA. Correcting our own error: this revision predates our launch, so the figure was out of date from the day the page went up.
Baggage liability 1,288 SDR, roughly $2,300 CAD → Baggage liability 1,519 SDR, approximately $2,780 CAD (effective December 28, 2024)

Air Canada's pets page states the cold-weather hold restriction applies on all aircraft: cats and dogs under 4.5 kg (10 lb) are not accepted in the baggage compartment Nov 1 – Mar 31, and at any other time the temperature is 0°C or below.
Under 4.5 kg not accepted in hold on some aircraft (Nov 1–Mar 31) → Under 4.5 kg not accepted in the hold on any aircraft Nov 1–Mar 31, and any time it is 0°C or below
